History: Rude was born in sector 7 of Midgar. He had one older sister. His father was an alcoholic who often fought with and abused his family. His mother never expressed much interest in her children. Rude hated his father, and early in his life spent as much time as possible away from home, though he never actually ran away. The only thing that prevented him was concern for his sister and an Uncle who lived nearby who Rude was very close to as a child and youth. Rude was large for his age, even as a youth. He was already topping six foot by the time he was fourteen. His size and so much time spent away from home made him a tempting recruit for the young gangs in the area. But he didn't join one until he was sixteen. That year his father and uncle had a falling out, and his uncle moved to Junon. With no stable influence in his life anymore, he soon found himself joining one of the gangs. He quickly built up a reputation as a person you did not want to cross.
He was recruited for the Turks by Tseng about the same time as Reno, and he and his red haired companion soon became fast friends. He quickly earned a reputation as being both reliable and dependable, able to handle any type of mission with equal ease. His tight lip put him in good stead with Tseng, who prized discretion.
During his early years as a Turk, Rude became aquainted with Tifa, who has moved to Midgar after the destruction of Nibelheim. Rude is excellent at what he does, but not very good with women. He makes a few feeble attempts to ask her out, but they fall flat on their face, as Tifa, even after all this time, is still thinking of Cloud, who she had not seen in years.
This causes problems for Rude once he discovers that Tifa is a member of Avalanche and took part in the bombing of two of Shinra's mako reactors. Still, even though he had feeling for her, he doesn't let that get in the way of his job, and he doesn't hold back when they confront one another in battle
